About Me

I'm an independent editor and writer who has served as a director of university news. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in nonfiction writing and a Master of Public Policy and Management. Home is now West Palm Beach, FL.

My heart will forever love homes in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and Manitowoc, Wisconsin. I love editing and writing about science---so it's great to be a contributing editor for Pitt Med, the magazine of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Oh, and I love to fiddle around. My Pittsburgh band Callan recorded two albums of Scottish and Irish music in the early 2010s. (We still play reunion shows when we're back in the 'Burgh.) I was a violinist with the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra in Wisconsin. Sometimes I even get to play my violin for podcasts.
